The popular Star Plus characters Sachin and Sailee played by starring Kanwar Dhillon and Neha Harsora respectively in the ongoing show seems to be winning the hearts of audience with their cute chemistry. Set against a Marathi backdrop, the recently released promo of the show gave the audience a glimpse of an action-packed sequence of Sachin and Sailee as the duo get stuck in the factory.

And audiences rooting for the couple were thrilled to witness how Sachin and Sailee became each other’s saviours and safeguarded one another from the unforeseen circumstances. Along with romance, the viewers also get an opportunity to get a glimpse of action sequences, and one among them was where Kanwar Dhillon gave the audience a chance to witness his daredevil stunts. While it was surely a visual treat for his fans, it seems that the actor sustained injuries while doing the same.

Kanwar Dhillon, aka Sachin from the Star Plus show Udne Ki Aasha, recalled the same and shared, “The action-fire sequence that we shot for the show Udne Ki Aasha was one kind of an experience; just a day prior to the action sequence, I had suffered an injury, and it was the wishes and blessings of my fans that motivated me to deliver my best, be it the sneak peek images or videos from the sets, which definitely left the fan intrigued and have been receiving immense love from the viewers. In the show, along with drama and emotions, the audience will get to witness romance building up between Sachin and Sailee as the tragedy that they have been befallen will bring them close. Shooting for this action-fire sequence was thrilling and exciting. Keep showering your love and appreciation on Sachin, Sailee, and Udne Ki Aasha!”

Udne Ki Aasha depicts the tale of Sachin and Sailee and also the intricacies of the relationships and equations. The show features how a wife faces  roadblock in the form of a non-cooperative husband and her challenge to make him transform for the sake of her and the family’s progress. Kanwar Dhillon, who is a taxi driver and earns his livelihood with it, essays the character of Sachin, while on the other hand, Neha Harsora portrays the role of Sailee, a florist who dabbles in various small businesses and makes a living out of her other chores.

Produced by Rahul Kumar Tewary, Udne Ki Aasha airs on Star Plus at 9 pm from Monday to Sunday.

Hindustani 2 Movie Review Synopsis:
HINDUSTANI 2 is the story of a national hero. Chitra Aravindhan (Siddharth), based in Chennai, runs a YouTube channel called Barking Dogs along with his friends through which they expose wrongdoings in the society. Though they try their best, their efforts prove futile in eliminating corruption. This is when Chitra starts a #BringBackIndian campaign on social media, hoping that it would reach Senapathy (Kamal Haasan) and he would return to rescue the country. As luck would have it, Senapathy, who is settled in Taiwan, happens to learn about the campaign and people urging him to return. He thus flies back to India. Not just the aam junta but even the cops get excited about his return as they hope that they’ll finally get to catch him red handed, which they failed to do so in 1996. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Hindustani 2 Movie Story Review:
Shankar’s story is weak and doesn’t have a fresh appeal. Shankar’s screenplay is messy. It is not the usual script of good vs bad and this affects the impact. Some scenes, however, are memorable. Chandrasekhar G’s dialogues are normal. But some one-liners are uttered too quickly. Two major sequences are in Gujarati and Punjabi. It’ll appeal to the audience of those regions but the rest of the country will feel alienated. There are spelling errors in the subtitles in these scenes as well.

Shankar’s direction is simple. He’s known for his rooted, mass appealing films and there’s no doubt that he has given his best in terms of execution. He also shows his brilliance in the last 30 minutes. The chase sequence and the final scene are the best parts of the film.

On the flipside, the subject doesn’t have the same appeal in today’s times. Moreover, random scenes appear and it doesn’t impress. Also, the two major blocks in the film involving Darshan (Zakir Hussain) and Kishen Singh (Piyush Mishra) must have sounded great on paper. But in the final product, it looks childish.

Hindustani 2 Movie Performances:
Kamal Haasan, however, gives his hundred per cent to his role. It’s a pleasure to see him perform the role with such perfection and only he could have managed to do so. Siddharth plays to the gallery and is entertaining. Rakul Preet Singh (Disha) is hardly there in the first half. She leaves a mark post interval. Gulshan Grover (Amit Agarwal), Zakir Hussain and Piyush Mishra ham. S J Suryah (Sakalakala Vallavan) is over the top. Bobby Simha (Pramod) and Nedumudi Venu (Krishnaswamy) leave a mark. The other actors who do well are Priya Bhavani Shankar (Aarthi), Samuthirakani (Varadharajan), Jagan (Thambesh), Rishi (Harish) etc. Demi-Leigh Tebow looks sizzling in the song ‘Calendar’.

Hindustani 2 movie music and other technical aspects:
Anirudh Ravichander’s music is no way close to the legendary soundtrack of the first part. ‘Jaago’, ‘Calendar Song’, ‘Come Back Indian’ and ‘Dada Aara Re’ don’t have a shelf life. Anirudh Ravichander’s background score, however, is massy.

Ravi Varman’s cinematography has a cinematic feel. Anbariv, Ramazan Bulut, ANL Arasu, Peter Hein and Grant Hulley’s action is spectacular. Legacy Effects, Vance Hartwell and Pattanam Rasheed’s make-up and prosthetics is praiseworthy. Rocky, Gavin Miguel, Amirtha Ram, S B Satheesan and Pallavi Singh’s costumes are realistic while T Muthuraj’s production design is grand. A Sreekar Prasad’s editing could have been slicker.

Hindustani 2 Movie Review Conclusion:
On the whole, HINDUSTANI 2 has its share of mass moments. But due to illogical scenes, long length and limited recall value of the first part, it will have a tough time at the box office.

Kill Box Office: Lakshya and Raghav Juyal starrer crosses Rs. 6 crores after 1st weekend, set to have first week of over Rs. 10 crores :Bollywood Box Office

After its opening weekend, Kill has now crossed Rs. 6 crores mark at the box office. The film had started with Rs. 1.35 crores on Friday, then grown on Saturday with Rs. 2.20 crores coming in, and then further saw an increment in collections on Sunday, what with Rs. 2.70 crores more being collected. As a result, the weekend collections of the out and out action flick stand at Rs. 6.25 crores.

It’s good that the growth has come on a daily basis for the film because it could easily have stayed flat around Rs. 1.50 crore mark, something that has happened for so many releases in 2024 when numbers have just not gone up. However, it’s just a start and so much more is still expected to come for the film. Though it’s a film starring a newcomer [Lakshya] and doesn’t have any fancy shooting locations or other expense, it’s a prestigious product nonetheless with the name Dharma Productions attached to it. Hence, it does warrant good theatrical collections.

For that to happen, the number need to be over Rs. 1 crore mark today. There is good likelihood that it will happen because if over the weekend the film has survived Kalki 2898 AD [Hindi] run then it can do that over the weekdays as well. Moreover, the target audience of the film is anyways the evening kind and that’s the one which should bring in footfalls during the weekdays as well.

The Bombay High Court has ordered the removal of actor Salman Khan’s name from a petition seeking a CBI probe into the alleged custodial death of Anuj Thapan. For the unversed, Anuj, accused of supplying weapons in the case involving the firing outside Salman Khan’s house, was found dead in a police lock-up toilet on May 1. His mother, Rita Devi, filed a petition in the High Court on May 3, alleging foul play and requesting a CBI investigation into her son’s death. She had included Salman Khan as a respondent in the plea.

Court’s reasoning for removing Salman Khan’s name

A division bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Justice Shyam Chandak directed Ms. Devi to remove the actor’s name. The court pointed out that the petition did not seek any relief from Mr. Khan and there were no allegations against him.  They stated, “He is not a necessary party.” The court stated that Ms. Devi’s concern is the death of her son, and the investigation into that will proceed.

Petitioner’s argument and court’s response

Ms. Devi’s lawyer argued that while no relief was sought from Salman Khan, he should still be part of the ongoing CID probe. The court, however, responded that the decision of who to include in the investigation rests with the CID. They advised the petitioner’s lawyer to focus on the core issue – her son’s death – and avoid unnecessary digressions.

Background of the case

On April 14, two shooters opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence. They were later arrested. Thapan was then arrested in Punjab on April 26, accused of supplying weapons to the shooters. His death in custody on May 1 sparked controversy, with his mother alleging police brutality.

Current status of case

The court has directed the magistrate to issue a fresh summons to Ms. Devi to record her statement. The CID investigation into Thapan’s death is ongoing.

Amar Singh Chamkila Movie Synopsis:
AMAR SINGH CHAMKILA is the story of a legendary singer. In 1977, Amar Singh (Diljit Dosanjh) knits socks in a factory for a living. But he wants to be a musician. He meets dholak player, Tikki (Anjum Batra), in Ludhiana and asks him to enlist him in the team of popular singer Jatinder Jinda (Udaybir Sandhu). Jatinder likes him for his personality and raunchy lyrics and he becomes a part of the troupe. One day, at a show in Chandigarh, Jinda is late and the crowd gets restless. The manager Kashmiri Lal (Ankit Sagar), with no other option, asks Amar Singh to sing. The host announces his name as Amar Singh Chamkila. Chamkila gives a mesmerizing performance that is loved by the audience. A few days later, Jinda vanishes to Canada. Kashmiri decides to replace him with Chamkila. He and a veteran singer Sonia (Nisha Bano) become a hit in the performance circuit. They also cut an album, which is much loved. After a fight with Kashmiri Lal over wages, Chamkila goes independent. He also faces trouble in finding a female singer due to the ‘vulgar’ lyrics. One day, he comes across Amarjot Kaur (Parineeti Chopra) and she expresses the desire to join him, that too with her family’s permission. Chamkila and Amarjot become a hit Jodi. Soon, Chamkila emerges as the most popular singer in Punjab ever. But with fame comes a lot of risk. A section of society is unhappy with the choice of words in the lyrics. He also gets threats. On top of that, he has hidden a terrible secret from Amarjot, Tikki and others. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Amar Singh Chamkila Movie Story Review:
Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Ali’s story is amusing and shocking. Not many people know about this man and what he went through and it goes in the favour of the film. Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Ali’s screenplay is creative and consists of well-thought-out scenes and moments. The writing, however, gets a bit stretched. Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Ali’s dialogues are sharp and a few of them are very hilarious and sudden.

Imtiaz Ali’s direction is stylish. The director is known for unconventional execution and AMAR SINGH CHAMKILA is no exception. He treats the audience with back-and-forth narrative, big bold texts on screen that translate lyrics of Chamkila’s songs in the performance scenes, animation, use of real-life footage and characters breaking the fourth wall. All these add to the impact. The director also takes a risk by having a tragic beginning to the film. Also, the characters go into a flashback mode when the dead bodies are lying a few feet away. Yet, it doesn’t look odd and it’s a risk that pays off. Imtiaz also makes an important comment in the second half that despite the so-called objectification of women, his songs are very popular among the members of the fairer sex. The final scene is a masterstroke depicting the real-life visuals as well as a recreation of it by splitting the screen. The amateur camerawork is also recreated and it’s quite impressive.

On the flipside, the second half is a bit dragging. A few aspects of Chamkila’s life come up suddenly, catching viewers unaware. For instance, his first wedding is explained very quickly and it leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Also, he is never seen smoking a bidi but later, we get to know that he has been an active smoker. Also, the makers never tried to show how Chamkila and Amarjot handled the kids while they were away performing.

Amar Singh Chamkila Movie Performances:
Diljit Dosanjh gets into the skin of the character. He has worked a lot on his body language and expressions and yet, it looks effortless. His singing, as expected, is flawless. Parineeti Chopra puts up a very impressive act. Her performance is great and she sings quite well, which is a feat, considering that she was sharing space with Diljit. Anuraag Arora (DSP Dalbir Singh) has an important role and leaves a huge mark. The same applies to Anjum Batra. Samuel John (Chamkila’s father) is hardly there and is okay. Nisha Bano, Udaybir Sandhu and Ankit Sagar lend able support. Apinderdeep Singh (Swaran Singh Sivia) has a late entry and does quite well. The actor playing the female journalist delivers a fine performance.

Amar Singh Chamkila music and other technical aspects:
A R Rahman’s music is well woven into the narrative and enhances impact. ‘Baaja’, played in the beginning, sets the mood. ‘Naram Kaalja’ is adorable and will surely be talked about. ‘Ishq Mitaye’ comes next and Mohit Chauhan kills it with his locals. ‘Vida Karo’ is moving while ‘Tu Kya Jaane’ is soulful. A R Rahman’s background score is terrific.

Sylvester Fonseca’s cinematography is appropriate. Sheetal Iqbal Sharma’s costumes are reminiscent of the bygone era. Suman Roy Mahapatra’s production design is authentic. The action is barely gory. After Studios’ VFX is great while Philm CGI’s animation is topnotch. Aarti Bajaj’s editing is in sync with the film’s mood and theme but could have been sharper.

Amar Singh Chamkila Movie Conclusion:
On the whole, AMAR SINGH CHAMKILA tells an incredible story in a very stylish and entertaining manner. The performances of Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra and Anuraag Arora, and A R Rahman’s music enhance the impact.

Although Aryan starts liking Kaira at first sight but a bittersweet battle begins between the two from the very first submission, both of them try their best to make their masters win the world peace leader award, And the fight continues on and off the stage until Kaira finds her Mr. perfect in Aryan.

Crazy in love with Aryan, when Kaira goes to propose to him, Aryan is on the phone with his friend planning to get Kaira into bed.

Suddenly Kaira’s life also starts looking like her mother’s, she decides that now there is no place for Aryan in her life and she also expresses her hatred in front of Aryan and says that You only believe in togetherness while for me, commitment is more important than togetherness. “जो मुझे पहली बार छुएगा मैं अपना आख़िरी स्पर्श भी उसे ही दूँगी” And you are not that one. from here begins the battle of two philosophies between two lovers. While Kaira is adamant that if there is love then we will have to stay together for life, while Aryan believes that as long as there is love, we will be together, love is over, togetherness is over.
