Tigmanshu Dhulia, the director who gave us movies like ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ and ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster’ is back with a patriotic film ‘Raag Desh’. The trailer of the film which dropped online looks sufficiently charming and recounts the tale of the Indian Army’s part in the freedom battle as they found a reason in Subhash Chandra Bose’s central goal to free India.
The ‘Raag Desh’ trailer starts with three soldiers being court-martialed and proclaimed as traitors for conflicting with the British high command. Featuring Kunal Kapoor as Colonel Shah Nawaz Khan, Mohit Marwah as Colonel PK Sehgal and Amit Sadh as Lieutenant Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, the film rotates around the court military of the three INA officers which occurred at the Red Fort in 1945. The three were being attempted under Section 41 for taking up arms against the King and accused of murder after which they were given over to the Japanese Imperial Army.
The film is set in the era of the World War II and gives us a look at the Indian tricolor with Mahatma Gandhi’s charkha. It additionally discusses Subhash Chandra Bose’s Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind as his well known calling ‘Tum mujhe khoon do, me tujhe azaadi dunga’ which made a few regular folks ascend and join the INA to oust the British administer in the opportunity battle on the shores of the Irrawaddy in Burma (now Myanmar).
The film has a natural vibe to it with persuading exhibitions by the noteworthy cast. It is set to hit the theaters on July 28.
