Kannada actor Yash REVEALS about Sanjay Dutt’s role in KGF: Chapter 2; Details Inside
Kannada superstar Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 1 turned out to be a blockbuster hit not only down South but overseas as well. The film released in five different languages including Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam and opened to a huge response. Reports of a sequel to the original were confirmed recently when producer Farhan Akhtar confirmed the same. He shared a photo of him with Yash and wrote, “Celebrating the love you all have shown KGF with the rocking @thenameisyash .. here’s looking forward to Chapter 2.”
The newest development is that Sanjay Dutt has been offered a role in the next instalment of the KGF franchise. The news was confirmed by Yash himself to a leading daily Asian Age. He said, “We had offered him Chapter one, which he did not accept perhaps for reasons of date availability. But yes, we have offered him Chapter 2 of KGF.”
The report quoted sources and stated that Sanjay Dutt is almost finalised as the main antagonist in KGF Chapter 2. “The only reason he did not accept KGF Chapter 1 was because it was a regional film. And the main lead Yash was unknown outside Karnataka. Now, after Chapter one is a blockbuster and Yash is a household name across the country, the KGF franchise seems much more attractive to Dutt,” the source told Asian Age.
KGF released in 2,460 screens in India and is the first Kannada film to witness such huge release. Out 2,460 screens, 1,500 are Hindi, 400 are Kannada, 400 are Telugu, Tamil are 100, Malayalam are 60.
