Sushant Singh Rajput entered the big screen merely five years ago and since then, the actor has set new levels of acting with is varied choice of characters. The young actor who started his journey as a boy next door image, has tried his hands on different roles from a Detective to a Cricket player, and undoubtedly has done full justice and enticed the audience with his charisma.
The 32-year-old actor is all set to make another remarkable performance in Abhishek Chaubey’s next. SSR will play the role of a dacoit in the film, which is set in the backdrop of 1970s.
The film’s first look was unveiled recently by the actor via his Instagram and Twitter handle, where he posted a picture in his rugged attire as a Dacoit. His caption read, “SONCHIRIYA #AbhishekChaubey @RSVPMovies @RonnieScrewvala @honeytrehan @psbhumi @BajpayeeManoj @RanvirShorey @ashutoshrana10.”

He is seen sporting a khakhi shirt and trousers, a slinging belt of bullets on his shoulder and with a rifle resting next to him. Sushant’s messy hairdo and sexy beard adds the extra flavor to the character.
A source close to the movie said, “Sushant is playing a dacoit for the first time and wanted to get into the character before the schedule starts so he will leave for the location on January 12 to spend time with a few former dacoits. He will also lose some muscle weight to look the rustic part as well as learn rifle-shooting.”
Sharing his experience in the ravines, he said,“Shooting for Abhishek Chaubey’s film is on full swing. I came here in Chambal early to do a bit of warm up for the film. Visiting ravines, talking to locals, working on dialect and inflection and a bit of cut-off from everything before the shoot helps keep the right things in perspective.”
Others to join the team of Sonchiriya are Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee and Ashutosh Rana. The film will be shot at two destinations, Chambal and Mumbai.
Sushant’s kitty is filled with a handful of projects. The energetic man is also working on Tarun Mansukhani’s Drive opposite Jacqueline Fernandez, Sara Ali Khan’s Bollywood debut directed by Abhishek Kapoor Kedarnath, Karan Johar-produced remake of Fault In Our Stars and Sanjay Chauhan’s Chanda Mama Door Ke.ADD WATCHLIST
