India’s highest paid actress, Deepika Padukone, was recently featured in the International Women’s Impact Report for 2018 which was recently launched by American ‘Variety Magazine’. She was honored on the list for her influence in Indian cinema as well as for her contributions in humanitarianism. The 32 year old actress’s career in Bollywood is at its peak and she has even entered Hollywood with the film ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ in 2017. Her latest film ‘Padmavat’ brought her accolades for her performance as well as death threats which she handled bravely and professionally. Her philanthropic Bangalore based Live Laugh Love Foundation is a safe haven and center for individuals with depression or other mental illnesses. They plan to combat stigma associated with mental problems and ensure everyone gets the help they require.
Deepika posted on her twitter handle exclaiming that she was, “honored & humbled joining these amazing achievers! Thank You @Variety”. Her fans have been raving about her high praise ever since. One fan commented saying, “Congratulations! I’m so proud of you and happy #InternationalWomensDay to you, the strongest and most inspiring woman I know both on and offscreen. Love you lots”. Another praised her for being the only Indian actress to be mentioned in the magazine for her accomplishments by stating, “Congratulations on being the only Indian actress to feature in the Magazine. The magazine also listed another Indian woman, Guneet Monga, who has produced hits like ‘The Lunchbox’ and other films. Apart from these two successful Indians, the magazine honors 50 women from all over the world and in various fields contributing to their art, business, goodwill, and influencing individuals globally. Some worthy mentions include Gal Gadot, Daisy Ridley, Nicole Kidman, and Salma Hayek to name a few.
